How-to photoshop?

ok so i recently got photoshop and i need a little help. ive seen alot of people with pictures that are like all grayscale and then the red that's in the picture is still red. so it's like grayscale and red. can someone please help??

Go to the menu bar and go to



Layers



New Adjustment Layer



Hue/Saturation



OK



Change the saturation to -100



Click the paintbrush tool



Adjust the opacity to what you want (100% Returns the full color)



Then just paint the areas where you want color

Same as the previous post...but you could make a selection of what you want to keep colored/save as new layer on top of the original

Here's my tutorial for this effect. It's long, but it will teach you a lot about layer masks and layers, and it's a "non-destructive" method because it doesn't mess with the original image.



Note: this is one of several ways to do this, as is typical with Photoshop.
