Does anyone know the strength & weakness for GIMP and Photoshop? Which one is more user friendly

Gimp is a free graphics software, Photoshop is not free.

I checked Gimp.com the turtor part, it is really complicated to master Gimp.

I wonder whether photoshop is easier to learn and to use,especially for making animated pictures etc.. OFFICE 2003 provide trainning on line too, I feel it is easy to learn it. How about Photoshop?

Not at all. Gimp is easy to use and has similar functionality to Photoshop, with no costs. The only thing is that documentation with open-source software is generally confusing. :-)

I suggest you to start with gimp. Photoshop is an expensive tool made for professionals, therefore complicated and hard to learn and use. I never managed to master photoshop. Gimp on the other side can produce comparable results with less confusing buttons and menus.
